Coleto Creek is a dammed creek located about 12 miles west of Victoria. Located one mile north of US Hwy 59, the Coleto Creek Reservoir is open all year. Coleto Creek is formed by the confluence of 15-mile Creek and 12-mile Creek in Victoria County and flows southeast for 25 miles to its mouth on the Guadalupe River, six miles south of Victoria. The stream forms part of the county line between Goliad and Victoria counties.
Coleto Creek is a beautiful sandy creek, which flows into the Guadalupe River. In the area flat to rolling prairie is surfaced by permeable sand that supports mesquite and a variety of prairie grasses. The creek is impounded to form Coleto Creek Reservoir, which lies on the boundary of Victoria and Goliad counties. The creek covers about 3,100 acres. The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority operates Coleto Creek Park, the only park on the shores of Coleto Creek Reservoir.
